Initial Consultation & Options Counseling
We support what’s best for you
When it comes to pregnancy, every patient has three options: parenting, adoption or abortion. The caring physicians and staff at the Comprehensive Women’s Health Center are here to help you evaluate these options so you can choose the one that’s right for you.
An options counseling appointment is an obligation-free initial consultation that will allow you to meet with one of our OB-GYN board-certified, family planning-trained doctors, as well as receive an ultrasound. We can provide unbiased information and advice about what course you would like to take.
We understand that deciding whether or not to continue a pregnancy can be very challenging. No matter what course you choose, we believe every patient deserves to be treated with dignity in a caring environment, and are dedicated to providing this experience for our patients.
What to expect during your appointment
An initial consultation is $150 for the options counseling meeting and ultrasound. If you decide to pursue treatment at the CWHC, this payment will be applied toward the procedure of your choice. For a list of possible procedures and pricing, visit our payment page, or learn more about our services.
If you decide to continue the pregnancy, we will refer you to a trusted OB-GYN provider that can see you through pregnancy, labor and delivery. If you are considering adoption, we can answer any questions you may have and can provide adoption resources (please visit our adoption information page). If you decide to terminate the pregnancy, we provide a full range of abortion services and pricing options, as well as contraception options following treatment.
What to expect during abortion treatment
If you decide to have an abortion, you have two options: surgical abortion or medication abortion. Click the links below to read about each treatment, as well as what to expect before, during and after the procedure.
If you’re not sure which treatment option will work best for you, you can compare the two methods side by side: Medication vs. Surgical Abortion. You will also have the opportunity to discuss these options with your CWHC doctor.
After your abortion, we can also provide you with birth control methods, should you wish to avoid an unexpected pregnancy in the future.
